DESIGN

Nancy Chapko collaboratively planned and conducted a DACUM (Design A Curriculum) meeting to explore Advanced Manufacturing with employers in the southeastern Wisconsin technical colleges’ districts. The DACUM was an essential first step in an examination of joint programming goals among the represented technical colleges. During the DACUM, information was gathered to create a process for technical colleges to prepare students for jobs in Advanced Manufacturing.

"Nancy worked closely with me to ensure that the on-line content is structured in a user-friendly way and with great clarity. Her work on the project helped me to achieve a new level of excellence with my Blackboard courses."  (Telecom Instructor - Online Course Development, 2019)

"Dr. Chapko assisted me in developing Spanish for Law Enforcement and Physical Fitness for Law Enforcement. Dr. Chapko is extremely intelligent and truly an expert in this field. She is exceptionally knowledgeable, articulate, dependable, and possesses a common-sense approach to problem solving."  (Criminal Justice Instructor - Curriculum Development, 2016)

TEACH

" ... as always Nancy does an amazing job tying the material directly to the retail business specifically for the [contracted organization's] classes. It makes digesting and understanding the content much easier, as well as helps us apply the topics to our everyday work."  (Associate Degree Student - Management Principles, 2020)

"Nancy has a great presence in the room. She is easy to understand and makes the class fun. She displayed many of the active learning styles of teaching that we were studying in her own instruction."   (National Training Institute, electrical training alliance participant - Active Learning, 2019)

Thank you for your time and work that you put in as an educator in this course. I am grateful to have learned from you in two courses now and both were excellent. I enjoy your teaching style how you provide a variety of learning opportunities. I enjoy being able to apply the knowledge to an applicable scenario in which I can take with me and use in my own teachings."  (Data Responsive Planning, Instruction, and Assessment - Graduate Student, 2019)

"This class was diverse, unbiased, and introduced meaningful content all semester. I found the material to be extremely impactful and helped my professional growth."  (Graduate Student - Curriculum Theory & Practice, 2018)

LEARN

Nancy has helped to coach and mentor me to improve my abilities in course design and development. This has included extensive coaching on connecting students to difficult course material though better course design, student activities with different student learning styles and student assessments. She has observed my classrooms and teaching style and communicated areas for improvement.  (Mechanical Engineering Technology Instructor - Program Development Project, 2018)

I want to both commend and thank you! The quality of the initial chapter for my research student's project exceeds the students I have worked with in the past several years. I attribute this to the quality of the curriculum and your mentorship. The feedback you gave my research student on the final submission for your class appears to have been very helpful in moving her forward to the next edition of her proposal and allowed me to support your comments in moving her forward.  (Faculty Colleague & Graduate Student Research Advisor, 2018)
